PRINCE2®/MSP® Implementation
OVERVIEW
The implementation services and support offered by SPOCE cover all aspects of PRINCE2®, with the integration of associated methods such as MSP® (Programme Management) and M_o_R® (Management of Risk). SPOCE has been assisting clients to set up PRINCE2 compliant project management systems for project and organisational environments since the company was formed in 1994 and many well known corporate companies and public sector organisations have benefited from SPOCE’s expertise.
OBJECTIVES
The key objectives of implementing a PRINCE2® compliant project management system are to:
- Set up a robust project management system which can be used to plan and control projects across the whole business.
- Incorporate current best practice within the organisation to minimize new procedures and re-training.
- Introduce new project management standards based on PRINCE2® and commonsense.
- To win the hearts and minds of those that will need to use the revised processes, components and techniques by carrying out adequate and intelligent training, where needed.
- Ensure that sufficient knowledge transfer takes place to enable customers to go forward without day-to-day consultancy support should they wish to take this route.
IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAME
We can help you to set up a PRINCE2® compliant project management system. Our well proven six step approach is used as the base to ensure a consistent and low risk environment for this important project.
All existing procedures and templates that work well and the client wishes to retain will be incorporated into the new standards. Additional PRINCE2® elements which will improve project management and control will be built into online reference to provide advice, guidance, training and templates for use within the organisation.
Step 1
- Obtain the basic documentation (PRINCE2® reference manual and other support materials).
- Arrange training for 2-6 key staff (on SPOCE Open Events).
- Obtain Management commitment and plan the PRINCE2® Implementation Project.
Step 2
- Modify the SPOCE standard templates and online reference material
- Run a “pilot” project to test out the basic standards incorporated as a first step.
- Review progress and performance of both the pilot project and the implementation project.
Step 3
- Modify the SPOCE standard templates and online reference material to reflect experience gained so far.
- Arrange further Training - on-site, open events and e-Learning
- Roll-out the templates and online reference incorporating the new standards and provide ongoing support.
Step 4
- Use the online reference and standards for all mainstream projects.
- Arrange PID Workshops for mainstream projects.
- Arrange on-going “call-off” training & workshops.
Step 5
- Check progress so far – critical review
- Modify the SPOCE standard templates and online reference material if necessary.
Step 6
- If required, arrange formal, independent, review of Standards.
- Sign-off the implementation project.
SCOPE
The implementation may be for a single project (or programme) or organisation-wide.
APPROACH
Our implementation service is delivered by Approved trainers and consultants directly employed by SPOCE under the direction and guidance of Directors of the company, in particular Paul Bradley who ranks among the most experienced of PRINCE2® experts.
SPOCE consultants and associates are all highly competent and experienced in management in general and project management in particular. The overall approach adopted by the company is to transfer knowledge and skills in order to leave the customer in full control. We do not deliberately engineer situations where our customers become dependent on us.
TIMING & COSTS
Timing and costs will be provided on request when we have had the opportunity to discuss your specific requirement and the outcomes. Typically, an implementation of PRINCE2® will take between 10-30 days and costs will depend on the size and scope of the implementation required.
The prices for project initiation and risk workshops will depend on the number of days requested and can be expected to be recovered within the first few weeks of the project. If an implementation or consultancy assignment finishes earlier than anticipated we will not charge for previously agreed, but unused days.
To find out more or to book a pre-implementation session or workshop please telephone Paul Bradley or Greg Walker on +44 (0)1202 736373 or email info@spoce.com.
