To keep your PRINCE2™ qualification valid, you will need to take a Re-registration Exam between 3-5 years after your original exam. If you can't make time to attend a SPOCE event, there are now options for you to refresh your PRINCE2™ knowledge and complete the Re-registration exam using SPOCE’s accredited self-study distance learning.
RE-REGISTRATION DETAILS
The PRINCE2 Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2 Practitioners should be re-registered within 3-5 years of their original certification. This re-registration comprises a 1-hour examination set at the same standard as the Practitioner examination. All Practitioners who have taken the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification since October 2000 have agreed or are agreeing to this requirement as part of their initial application and so are now designated as Registered Practitioners.
Practitioners certified prior to October 2000 have the opportunity to take the re-registration examination in order to demonstrate their commitment to professional development. This is particularly important following the recent upgrading of the PRINCE2 Manual and its greater focus on Business Case and the Management of Risk.
The registration has a validity of five years and Registered Practitioners will be required to take a re-registration examination to confirm their competence in the PRINCE2™ Methodology before the end of the five year period.
The exam will last one hour and consist of a scenario and one question (with up to three sub-topics) designed to assess continued and adequate knowledge of the PRINCE2 Methodology. The exam can be taken at a formal PRINCE2™ exam venue (paper-based), or electronically (online) at your place of business or home.
From January 2008 the exam will change to Objective Testing Format (OTE) in line with the changes to Practitioner Exam. It will consist of a one hour paper with 3 OTE questions covering 120 marks. The pass mark is 60 (50%).
PREPARING FOR THE RE-REGISTRATION EXAM
Although not an APM Group requirement, SPOCE recommend that refresher training is considered as the PRINCE2™ Manual has gone through two significant updates since 2002. SPOCE offer 4 options for Re-Registration.

This self-study distance learning pack provides you with the latest Practitioner level accredited e-Learning CD. Included in this pack is the P2 Passport CD with a Re-Registration Study Guide; the latest PRINCE2™ Manual; and the Re-Registration Exam. The exam date can be chosen when you are coming to the end of your study.
