Officially launched in 2002, the Management of Risk Guide (M_o_R® ) guide is intended to help organisations put in place an effective framework for risk management, helping decision making based on risks that affect strategic, programme, project and operational objectives.
The Practitioner Examination Preparation event provides an opportunity to apply learning of the M_o_R® guide to scenario-based tasks. The scenarios used on this event are in the same format to those used in the APM Group Practitioner Exam. The Foundation Exam (45 minute, multiple choice) must be passed prior to attempting the Practitioner Exam. If you require the Foundation Exam, please contact SPOCE for the options available.
The focus of this event is to apply previous learning of the method to sample Practitioner style exam questions. An Approved Trainer will be on-hand to provide feedback and guidance on the work completed.

It can be expected that this preparation event will improve the likelihood of passing the APMG Practitioner Exam. However, success in the exam requires some basic analytical skills under time pressure, and this event is not intended to provide anything other than a high-level appreciation of these important skills.
What examinations are taken on the course?
M_o_R® Practitioner Exam: 3 hours, open book (M_o_R® manual and APMG document “ ABC Consulting Ltd” only), consisting of 4 scenario- based objective test (each consisting of 20 marks). The pass mark is 50% (40/80).
The exam is an 'open book' examination. Candidates may make use of Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners (the official Management of Risk 'manual'), together with the APMG guidance document 'ABC Consulting Ltd - Sample Risk Documents and Worked Examples of some Common Techniques'. No other material can be used.
Having passed the exam, in order to maintain the Practitioner Qualification, it is required that candidates sit and pass a 'Re-Registration' exam within 5 years of passing the original examination.
