Management of Value (MoV®) is complimentary to project management and programme management methods and enables: better business cases to be created; better outputs to be delivered; and better outcomes and benefits to be achieved.

What Are The Course Objectives?

The key objectives of this course are:

  • The main processes and techniques used within MoV® and the reasons for using them
  • How MoV® may be applied at portfolio, programme, project and operational levels
  • The differences in applying MoV® at different stages in a project and the expected outputs from a MoV® Study at each stage
  • The circumstances under which MoV® should be used
  • The concept of value and how value may be improved
  • The main benefits arising from the use of MoV®
  • Approaches for implementing MoV®
  • How to respond to external and internal influences
  • The principles of embedding MoV® into an organisation
  • The key topics in document checklists, the toolbox, health check, organizational maturity and individual competence

What Is The Course Approach?

This course is offered as either a 2 day Foundation, or a 4 day Practitioner course and is a mixture of input and practical sessions teaching to the 'Practitioner-level' syllabus, delivered by an APMG approved trainer with practical experience of project and programme management. The 2 day course incorporates the Foundation exam and the 4 day course incorporates both Foundation and Practitioner exams and includes additional focus on the application of the method using Practitioner-level tasks and objective test exam questions. Delegates should spend approximately 6 hours pre-study in order to be well prepared for the course.

What examinations are taken on the course?

MoV® Foundation Exam: 40 Minutes, closed book, 50 multiple-choice questions.

MoV® Practitioner Exam: 2½ hours, open book (MoV® manual only), 8 scenario-based objective test questions.
